OK, the scale gave me some false reassurance the other day.... it turns out that the 155.4 wasn't a real number.... I was probably a little dehydrated from my spin class. As of this morning, I'm coming in at 158.6, which is right in line with what I weighed yesterday. This is a much better number for me, emotionally, than the 161.4 that took me by surprise after my trip, but it's still about 2 pounds away from the safety zone I like to stay in... Not a big deal -- I'm just taking note of where I am.
With all that said, I have to wonder why I just HAD to have ice cream after dinner last night... I didn't go crazy with the portion size, but ... really? I do actually know that eating ice cream is not the way to lose weight. I need to get my head out of my you-know-what and focus until I'm back in my happy zone...
Thanks for listening. This is a really important part of maintenance for me, and I hope it's not coming across as obnoxious for me to blog about 2-6 measley pounds. If I didn't stay on top of small gains like this, it's unlikely I'd be able to keep off the weight I worked so hard to lose. As it happens, that's exactly how I defeated the results of every single diet I ever was on before I was banded, and it's how I got to 230 pounds in the first place.

This is real, as much as someone starting their journey. Maintainance is hard! I too struggle with 4 frigin pounds. I don't obsess, but am very cognizant to not let it get out of hand.At the start of my journey I really didn't believe I could do this. I am thankful every day and like you will not blow it!
You've earned the right to be concerned about 2-3 pounds. You've helped so many bandsters over the years and as you say; one pound becomes three pounds and then twenty. We all know this but its good to hear it again and again.

I think sometimes we forget that blogging needs to be about what we need first and if it helps and/or entertains others second that's great. You totally need to write about those few pounds that are keeping you in a comfortable range. Because we all have you on a pedestal and if you mess up we are all going to spiral out of control. No pressure. LOL.
For me maintaining is much more work than losing ever was.
Small gains turn into 40 pounds if you don't go crazy about them! I know this! Good for you for taking charge!
Your band is deflated and it's smart of you to pay close attention to only a few measly pounds. As you said, the collective "few measly pounds" is what gets us all in that zone of weight that we don't want to be in. Smart of you nip it quickly!
I can't begin to tell you how nice it is to read your posts again. We were banded within two months of each other and I read your posts religiously. (We also met and married our loves at about the same time.) I weighed 265 when I started and got down to 183 but never to goal. Still...the lapband has been a great thing. Friday I had an unfill due to acid reflux and it has me a little scared. So I thought...I wonder what that great girl in New York is doing these days. And here you are. THANK YOU for updating all of us who read you (anonymously) from far away.
Well, I can tell you that I've just come out of my fog...the "pretend that you have a normal relationship with food and your body fog" that has gotten me to a point where I have indeed experienced a regain. I am up almost 25 and I cannot believe I let it happen. I'm trying desperately to get back on track....it is hard though. I don't like where I am now and I'm the only one who can change it!
