Sage Advice

Lap Band Gal posted a great article, written by my doctor's husband, Dr. George Fielding.  Dr. Fielding has been banded for 16 years -- a number that gives a long-time bandster like me a lot of hope that my band may last for many more years to come.  In any event, his advice is very good, and I encourage you to check it out...here is a LINK.

And, just for fun, here is a photo of the hubby & me at a highly fancy white tie party last month! (Wow, did he look amazing!) :)

This is why I am frustrated with this article. Okay..not WITH the article, but by the article. My "new" doctor (he replaced my love Dr. Friedman about 3 years ago and I have only seen him twice), hates the lapband and said that I don't need to be any tighter (based off a barium swallow, not off of my description, what I can eat, my hunger)...so I haven't been back in about 2 years. And let me tell you...I AM HUNGRY. Not just my mind hunger, which is always there, but wake up, stomach growling, hunger. So, I went to my general doctor and begged for phentermine to help with the hunger for a few weeks. It frustrates me that I need to bascially argue my case with my new bariatric surgeon...when I know my band. So in otherwords, I am frustrated bc I wish my doctor with like the doctor who wrote the article. But...it may have encouraged me to go see my dumb lapband doctor and make him give me a fill.
