So, the converse of this is that, when I was piling ON all the weight, I kept a pair of black size 10 Banana Republic pants. They were emblematic of a time when I was reasonably happy of my weight, and I kept them as a symbol of the size I would like to be again. Until I got my band and it sank in that getting to goal would be a possibility, I didn't think I'd ever fit into those pants again.

On Friday, I was getting ready for work and was -- once again -- having the problem of not having enough clothing that fits! With the exception of my new white pants (which I'd worn the week before), none of my other pants fit! Or. . so I thought. On a whim, I got out my anti-Jared pants and put them on. And, not only did they fit. . . but they were just a little bit too big. W-O-W. I did not expect that at all.
I wound up going to The Gap during lunch to try to find some other pants that I could wear to work, but no luck. However, I did buy -- for the first time in probably ten years (!) -- a pair of shorts (!) and a very cute maxi-dress.
Also -- I wore my dress from the last two posts out last night to a Cinco de Mayo mixer held by several private clubs (total Gossip Girl scene on the Upper East Side. . xoxo). I had a great time, the dress was a hit, and I really enjoyed wearing it! :)

I agree with Lori...Looking at your other pictures, I would have sworn that photo was taken recently. You DON'T age!!! What is your secret...Please share! :)
In case you ever wonder "why bother?" sometimes when writing your blog, let me tell you that as a soon-to-be banded brother, I found this blog by accident and for the first time, I read a story I could relate to: a young single professional going through this amazing (and somewhat scary...) process of change.
So thanks for taking to the pen and documenting the ups and downs of your adventure.
Cheers!
If you can make it throught the first couple minutes of rambling, I give you a shout out on my first vlog...

@Mary -- totally! I am so in that same boat -- but I will say that I love the pics of your new outfit! :)
@Lori and Staphanie -- thanks so much. It's amazing to be able to recognize myself again after several years when my weight was out of control.
@Espressonut -- Welcome! Thanks for your nice comment. Hope to see you on here more and look forward to reading non-Latin posts on your blog! :) LOL
@Jess -- that vlog was so great, and thank you so much for the shout-out, which completely brought a tear to my eye. I am so grateful to be on this journey with you and so many other wonderful people. :)
YAY! What a great victory!!! I'll bet it sent chills down your spine! Great job Catherine!
What a fantastic NSV!! I agree with the others - I would never have thought that picture was taken 9 years ago. Crazy!
I love your blog, especially your stories about having an active social life and making it work. Of all the band bloggers, I relate to your lifestyle the most, so I get a LOT of inspiration from you!
I have boxes and boxes of stuff from when I was "skinny" and somewhere in there is a pair of very sexy size 10 jeans that I fit into for about five minutes. I kept the clothes because I truly believed I'd fit into them again (like we all do!) When we moved a year ago, I was at my most weight-depressed and I seriously thought about dumping them. I'm so glad I didn't!!! I can't wait to put on my very own Anti-Jared Pants! =)
