Wow! This last pound was hard-earned! Again, I know it's because I'm building a lot of muscle right now, but boy! It sure did take a long time to get this one off.I had a great weekend. On Friday, I had drinks with a friend, then had my hair done on Saturday. I spent Saturday night letterpress printing the thank you cards for Adam & Erica (photo to follow). Then, Sunday, like a superstar :) I got up, ran 2 miles on the treadmill (!) and had brunch with Nadia and Erika (Erika with a "k" being a different friend than Erica with a "c").
Erika and I wound up wandering around Soho and the West Village after brunch, and saw part of the Gay Pride Parade, which is always fun to watch. We heard so much Michael Jackson -- from the floats, in stores, and playing on the radios of passing cars. While I have problems with how MJ lived his life, there is no denying that he had an incredible number of great songs and was a huge influence on music and my generation.

I went to the Gay Pride parade years ago when I was in college - what a fun party!!! I agree about MJ - huge impact on our generation, but I'm kind of over hearing about him. I kind of think Farrah deserves a bit more attention than he does. Oh well! ;)

Fantastic job Catherine! I've been following your blog for the last couple weeks, and you have been much of an inspiration! I'm having my lap band surgery her in Michigan on July 22. Though I am originally from Mi, for three years my DH and I lived in NYC (in Astoria), and moved back to Michigan just about 3 years ago. We were there for my school. I went to grad school at the CUNY Grad Center (34th and Fifth), and taught at Hunter and Pratt. My dh is a chef, and worked at Judson Grill, Danube, and then the Subzero showroom across from the Bloomberg building. I loved your mention of Artisanal, what fabulous cheeses! I miss NYC, and Love not only hearing about your WLS and your journey, but also about all the great stories about the city, and all the great social events you're attending. Love the photos - keep posting them! Have you been to Nice Matin for breakfast yet? If I remember right, it is on the west side in the 70s. Fantastic atmosphere, the best lattes, and occassionally a celeb siting. If you go - say hello for me!
