Plateau. . .

I seem to have hit a plateau. The scale just isn't moving at the pace it's been going for the past six months. I base this on how tough it's been to get off the last 2.6 lbs (I'm at 41.6 down today).

I've been thinking about things I can do to get the scale moving again. . . and the only real answer seems to be that I need to get more serious about hitting the gym. I've been working out with my trainer again (but only once a week), but if I'm going to be honest about it, I haven't been very diligent about going to yoga or swimming.

So, dear readers, you are my witnesses. I am going to commit to working out three times between today and Monday. That should help to get me back on track. I really want to hit 45 sooner than later!

It's the hardest part, isn't it?!?!? You can do it! Keep the faith! (And I love the pix you put up)

You go girl! You can do it! Increasing my exercise was the key to get past my two month plateau! I signed up for horse back riding class and that did the trick plus I absolutely LOVE it!

I wonder why working out seems to be the hardest thing for us to do! You will get there...I think that as you get closer to your goal it becomes harder (at least that's what it sounds like from those on LBT).

Thanks, Amy! My favorite one on that topic is www.stylemepretty.com. They constantly show gorgeous paper goods!

Just a suggestion, but my nurse/nutritionist has recommended that I could do liquids for a day or two to "shake things up" to break the plateau, and it has most definitely worked.

As some who seems to be someone onto an excercise kick, my biggest piece of advice is give yourself a big challenge, like your 3 workouts in as many days or whatever, for me it was one week straight of workouts... today was day 6 and it was a good one! Plus when you go every day, or more often, I'm not working right now so I obviously have a more open schedule. But the point is going every day helps me be ok with the fact that not every single workout is going to be a huge one, but they'll all add up and help you get there!

Catherine -

Soooo very proud of your accomplishments!!! And sooo envious of the New York night life you have - sounds like you live a very full life!!!!

I hit a plateau for about a month as well. Didn't seem to matter what I tried, I would lose a pound, gain a pound, until finally over the weekend the scale actually started moving in the right direction. I wonder if its more about our bodies adjusting to all the changes. As long as its moving again I am happy. I had set a personal goal of -50 by Memorial Day and as of this morning, I'm down 44.6!!! I may not quite make it, but I won't be too far behind my target date!!

Keep up the great work. Take care!!

Thanks, you guys! Beth -- did your nutritionist suggest a clear liquid or full liquid diet to shake things up?
